Hi Amy! Yes – you can absolutely use this swirl in a cake or as a filling layer. It’s basically a thick cranberry sauce! If you want to make this as a cake recipe I recommend doubling the cranberry swirl and using this as the cake portion of the recipe (it’s the same, but written for a layer cake): https://sugarandsparrow.com/vanilla-cake-recipe/.
