Hi Jeannine! The silver rod dragees I use are edible, but they are pretty hard. They’re basically a piece of spaghetti coated in silver food color, and they’re only FDA approved in Canada and Europe which is why I think the “use only for decoration” label is mandatory. I bought some for the recipe from a local bakery store, and discovered they were for decoration only. The brand of dragees is Celebakes. They are beautiful! But, I do not want to crack a tooth on them.
